November 12, 2012 – Lakeview Golf Resort and Spa is stepping out and stepping up. The Resort is currently undergoing a $2 million dollar renovation. The lobby has been completed with new furniture, carpet and artwork. The famous Legends Sports Bar & Grille is now complete with all new WVU, Steelers and Pirates memorabilia. The Sports Bar has been updated with 27 new flat screen televisions and new furniture.
The next phases of the renovation process are new upgrades to the 187 guestrooms. The resort currently has three new guest showrooms; king suite, king standard and standard double. The rooms will include flat screen televisions, iPod docking systems, new bedding and more. After the guestrooms have been complete the resort will switch its attention to the 30,000 square feet of conference and meeting space. The space will be updated with new carpet and lighting.
“We are known for our great service here at the resort, these renovations make us a complete package,” said General Manager Steve Sharkey. He went on to add “the resort will provide the top notch look and service that guests are looking for when they book their events.”
Not only is Lakeview renovating, but has a variety of exciting upcoming events. Lakeview will hold its Annual Thanksgiving Harvest on November 22, 2012. The meal will run all day featuring roasted young tom turkey with orange and cranberry relish, slow roasted beef strip loin, savory salad selections and autumn waters seafood display of snow crab, shrimp and smoked salmon. Plus sweet corn pudding, creamy mashed potatoes and all topped off with a heavenly dessert display. Lakeview is also offering To-Go Orders.
After Thanksgiving the Resort is hosting “The 2013 New Years Eve Masquerade Ball.” The event will have WVAQ’s Lacy Neff broadcasting live. The Band “3AM” will be performing live. Dinner, drinks and dancing will take place all throughout the night, all topped off with a champagne toast at midnight.
“This event is huge for us, it not only brings in the radio for live broadcasting but it brings in a variety of guests from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland” said General Manager Steve Sharkey. He also added “what better way to expose our renovations to the guests with the intent of having them return in the future.”

Last, but not least, Lakeview will hold its 29th Annual Festival of Food and Wine January 18-20, 2013. This year’s theme is “The Art of Entertaining.” Over the course of the weekend people will have the opportunity to sample delectable food and culinary stylings from the finest chefs in the region. They will also have the opportunity to sample the finest wines and attend seminars on how to entertain their own guests with the proper mix of food and wine. Guests will also witness the talent of our celebrity chefs as they compete in the 3rd Annual Iron Chef Competition!
